President: Kristin D'Angelo
Major: Biology
Minor: Spanish, Environmental Science, and Political Science Graduation Year: Spring 2023 Hometown: Long Island, NY About me: I joined Sigma Delta Pi because I wanted to improve my Spanish, meet new people, and learn more about Hispanic cultures. I love to learn languages, travel, and tutor biology and chemistry. I have been to Honduras, Costa Rica, Peru, Spain, and Chile, where I have been able to practice my Spanish! I participated in two Dialogues of Civilizations to Peru and Chile this past summer (after being denied for the past 2 years due to COVID) and I highly recommend going on a Spanish dialogue if you have the opportunity! I have been a part of Sigma Delta Pi for 2 years now, first as the Social Media Coordinator and last year as the Outreach Coordinator. I am very excited to be President this year and continue to grow and improve the society! Outreach Coordinator: Katalina Baehring
Major: Cell & Molecular Biology
Minors: Music and Spanish Graduation Year: Spring 2023 Hometown: Guilford, CT About me: I am a biology major from southern Connecticut hoping to go to medical school after graduation. I am half-Colombian and half-German, so I’ve always had a passion for learning new languages, and I hope to carry those skills into the healthcare space. When I’m not studying, I enjoy singing, exercising, and practicing Spanish and German with my family! I started learning Spanish in middle school when my grandmother came to the U.S. for the first time. I took several classes throughout high school and wanted to continue my Spanish studies through the minor in college. However, I finished the minor in my second year, so I joined Sigma Delta Pi to not only practice speaking Spanish with other members, but to also promote the language and culture on campus. I am excited to continue sharing the benefits of learning Spanish through Sigma Delta Pi and I look forward to getting to know all of you! Fundraising Coordinator: Nate Gillin
